Barcelona Barricades

Context:

On October 14th 2019 a sentence came out that condemned elected catalan politicians for “Allowing” a referendum for Catalonia’s independence to happen on October the 1st 2017.

Instantly, people went out to the streets to protest against it, and as for today September 2020 there are places in Barcelona where there hasn’t been a single day without protests.

This game is set in one of those October 2019 nights, in the Eixample neighborhood.

Summary:

Barcelona Barricades is a board game for one or more players. If more people join the fight against the system, the struggle becomes easier! In multiple crossroads of Eixample, groups of people gather in peaceful protests that are threatened by the police. As ordered by the spanish government, riot police squads and vans are deployed with the intent to dissolve them, hitting and shooting foam bullets to anyone that stands in between.

Note for the antifasist jam: Yeah, nationalisms are usually linked to fascism, racism and a long etcetera, but as catalan culture and language are threatened, it's a slightly different situation.

Future releases will include:

- 1 Campaign rules to play more than one day.
